__________
Below is a sound in the same rhythm as attention in the brain. It reminds the brain of the attention rhythm, and we learn to recognize the inner rhythm like music as we use it. It is shown to increase attention and memory 11-29% in new research. The sound also goes side-to-side. You can play it on speakers or headphones for the side-to-side effect. This is a balancing technique used in yoga and other practices of side to side stimulating that goes back thousands of years. In Yoga it has been done by using hands to block one nostril and then the other in a repeating pattern while breathing. It is also used in education and counseling in “body tapping” and other things. The side to side sound is also used in what is called EMDR therapy. We recommend you try this before you use the custom sounds in the first sounds page. The Personalized sound page in the menu has a sound mixes you choose from for balancing your focus, relaxation, and sleep.
- Please just use it once or twice a day with an hour break in the first half of your day (like coffee or tea for most people). You can gauge whether is helps or hurts and guide your listening. Most people feel more clear after listening. A smaller percentage feel over focus, too relaxed, or tired. The custom sound guide helps people pick sounds based on their brain patterns.
- If you have ever had seizures, please use the attention sound in the Personalized sound guide page (and not this sound).
More About the Side-to-Side Attention Sound:
This sound stimulates rapid coordination between the left and right hemispheres in the brain by going side to side on headphones, so headphones are needed. It speeds up processing of information and memories. The technique is called bilateral brain stimulation, and is used for mental fitness and health in something called BrainGym and EMDR therapy. To use it, please try it for a few minutes to see if you feel comfortable. If it feels good, then you can try it for longer. Please stop if you feel overwhelmed. Please only listen for up to an hour at a time. Less time can be good, and the longer you listen the more deeply it works. When you are using it, you can visualize the future and the past to visualize more positive outcomes.
When you balance focus and relaxation in the right amount of focus and the right amount of relaxation for you, it puts you into a healthy “flow” state that is known to heal trauma and increase creativity and performance.
You can use the sound as a background while you watch shows, play games, read, relax, or meditate.
Like the other sounds on this site, please only use it while sober. Please only use one sound at a time, and use them while sitting or lying down in a safe place. And, please only use with headphones. The users agree to take responsibility for any effects of using the sound.
