Meditatist is for thought and self development. It has a brain training and brain balancing system for sleep, memory, attention, relaxation and dementia. It also has articles, Q+As, and a text social network. We partner with Online-Therapy.com for people wanting to enhance their cognitive and behavioral health skills with their workbooks and licensed counselor guidance.

Below are some common results from the brain balancing sound system used for meditation, daily living as background sounds, and sound therapy. The meditation sound system was developed by myself, Peter Meilahn, Licensed Professional Counselor, and a clinical biofeedback and neurotherapy teacher to staff from The University of Minnesota Medical Center, Hazelden, the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services, and elsewhere.

What Percentages of People Would Benefit from the Meditation Sound, Sound Therapy System, and Results in Research:

On average, our background sounds had the following results in university and clinical research:

  • Lowered anxiety 86% (58% more than music) in a hospital study with adults preparing for surgery. Around 30% of adults struggle with anxiety.
  • Lowered chronic pain 77% on average in people with fibromyalgia and other struggles. Around 30% of adults over 45 in the US have chronic pain.
  • Helped people fall asleep more than 50% faster and sleep deeper when they had insomnia. About 30-33% of adults struggle with insomnia.
  • Raised attention and memory for typical adults by 11% and 29% in adults with ADHD. This also helped autism in studies. In one study, 8-year-old boys with impulsive ADHD had their impulsive behavior go down by more than 50% when they learned to identify and enhance the focused attention rhythm on this site. There is research showing they help remove memory-blocking plaque associated with dementia. Most adults want more calm attention and memory, and around 5% of adults around the world have ADHD. Around 30-35% of adults develop dementia, including Alzheimer’s, by age 85, and new science shows that it starts in the 40s and 50s with plaque buildup.
  • They also helped people lower pain from migraines more than 50%. Around 12-15% of adults have migraines.
  • There is a method of balancing focus and relaxation in mixed sounds that are used to help performance and creativity, while also being proven to heal trauma reactions in the brain and lower relapse after addiction treatment (if you Google “Alpha-Theta Training Neurotherapy for Performance, Creativity, Trauma, or Addiction” in separate searches, you will see the studies. That method is built into the sound mixer that was made by the Clinical Director and a NASA engineer who is also a musician who works on medical applications. This site is a low-cost, lifetime alternative to a type of live brain feedback and training of brain patterns called neurofeedback (the Clinical Director did neurofeedback before COVID, and he was inspired and spurred to make an online version).
  • There is a section on brain injuries and seizures, backed by research.

You can read more in the Research page or try the sound therapy system in the menu. The worldwide effects of a small percentage of societies using this platform are talked about in the About page, and it covers mental health, productivity and Gross Domestic Product, crime rates, and more.

Thank You, Peter Meilahn, Licensed Professional Counselor (Oregon License C9007) and Founder of Meditatist.com
